Daltonganj, Nov 3: Netarhat police in Latehar district are clueless about the miscreants who on the night of November 1 attacked a Christian priest Fr Sunil Bara and robbed him of Rs 10,000.

Sources said the priest was sitting and holding a meeting with some people of his social outfit called ‘Alert’ on the night of November 1 at Pakri Paath  when half a dozen people reached there and at pistol point robbed the priest Bara of the cash worth Rs 10,000 and hit him in his head with a pipe with an iron socket in it.

Diwakar Dubey, the officer in charge of the Netarhat police station, confirmed this attack on the priest in which Bara was hurt and robbed of Rs 10,000 said some of the half a dozen miscreants were inebriated and some had masks on their faces too.

The miscreants looted 4 cell phones including that of the priest Bara. Sources said the miscreants just targeted the priest and none else.

The police officer also said there was a laptop there where this priest was holding a conversation with his people but these miscreants did not eye the laptop at all.  The police officer said we are investigating the episode and hope to crack it soon.

SDPO Mahuadanr Rajesh Kujur said Netarhat police have been directed to nab the criminals. The motive and intention behind the attack on the priest Bara are yet to be ascertained, said sources.
