Notably, Rajpath was formerly known as Kingsway. It is the celebrated venue of the Republic Day parade every year and stretches through Vijay Chowk to India Gate.
The vinyl films will be pasted on signages in 14 locations, highlighting the renaming, said a senior official at Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
“The work will be completed before the inauguration of the revamped Central Vista Avenue, which is scheduled for tomorrow,” he added.
A request for the renaming was received in a letter, dated September 1, from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, according to NDMC officials.
