Islamabad, April 12: The newly-elected Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in one of his first decision announced a weekly one-day holiday and modifies the working hours of government offices to ten hours, according to local media.
“There are no longer two off days in a week! PM Shehbaz Sharif has ordered that there be only one official weekly off. From 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., he has changed the hours of government agencies “According to Samaa News.
The decision comes as the country’s inflation rate continues to rise. Economists have warned that rising inflation will be a key hurdle for Pakistan’s new government, which will have to reverse the Imran Khan government’s so-called relief measures.
Notably, Shehbaz Sharif took oath as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan on Monday after being elected by the National Assembly of the country, replacing Imran Khan.
