Ranchi: The CID court in Ranchi has denied bail to Ritesh Yadav alias Sundar Mahto, the prime accused in the high-profile murder of gangster Aman Singh inside Dhanbad Jail. According to investigators, Ritesh allegedly fired nine bullets at Aman Singh using a pistol with a magazine loaded with 14 rounds.

Cold-blooded execution inside hospital ward

At the time of the attack on December 3, 2023, Aman Singh was reportedly lying on a hospital ward bed listening to music. Ritesh approached him with a pistol and opened fire in rapid succession, ultimately firing a fatal shot to the head. Only after confirming that Aman Singh was dead did he leave the scene and discard the weapon outside the jail premises near Bekarbandh.

CID investigation and court developments

The case has been under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which has so far filed charge sheets against 10 accused individuals. While some co-accused have been granted bail by the High Court, the CID court has refused to release Ritesh, citing the gravity of his role in the crime.
