Ranchi, Oct 4: The burning of the effigy of Raavan was banned this year too which was declared during the meeting of the district administration, police administration and different puja committees on Monday at the DC office. ADM Law and Order Utkarsh Gupta presided over the meeting. Along with this, SDM Deepak Kumar Dubey, City SP Saurabh, Traffic SP Reshma Ramesan and Municipal Corporation officials attended the meeting.
On the occasion, ADM Law and Order Utkarsh Gupta appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration in the successful conduct of the puja.
“Like every year, the puja will be celebrated in a peaceful manner this year too,” he further added.
Traffic SP Reeshma Rameshan stressed making special parking arrangements about 200-300 meters away from pandals so that people do not face any trouble and emergency service could be maintained.
City SP Saurabh said that this year a meeting of the peace committee was called on the successful organization of Puja. Also, there will be special attention to the guidelines regarding Covid and if violated appropriate action will be taken against it.
“Many places are identified where CCTV cameras will be installed and also QRT and patrolling parties will be ready to manage any kind of happenings,” he further added.
Key points mentioned in the guidelines are as follows:-
- Devotees may do darshan from a distance outside the barricade without entering the pandal.
- The size of the idol should not increase by 5 feet.
- No immersion procession.
- No restriction on home delivery of Prasad.
- Below 18 years not to be allowed in pandals.
- No decoration by lighting.
- No fair to be organized.
- No food stalls to be opened.
Violation of these measures will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.
