Ranchi, Aug 24: The Jharkhand High Court has threatened director general of Jharkhand police and treasury officials of withholding their salaries in case of further delay in payment of compensation to kin of an accident victim.
Justice Ananda Sen passed the order giving a deadline of four weeks for payment. The judge apart from giving the deadline of four weeks also enhanced the compensation amount from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
The development took place when Kamlesh Chopra brought into the notice of the court through her lawyer Shankar Lal Agrawal that a high court order allowing Rs 11 lakh compensation to her in lieu of her husband’s accidental death has not been followed so far.
