New Delhi, July 28: SpiceJet said on Thursday that there was no impact on its schedule today because it had already rescheduled its flight operations due to the current slow travel season, which came a day after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered the airline to operate only 50% of its flights for the next eight weeks.

“All SpiceJet flights departed on time, as per schedule today morning. There were no flight cancellations. There has been absolutely no impact on our schedule following yesterday’s order by the regulator. This has been possible as SpiceJet, like other airlines, had already rescheduled its flight operations due to the current lean travel season,” Spicejet said in a statement.

“We would like to once again reassure our passengers and travel partners that our flights will operate as per schedule in the coming days and weeks,” the Spicejet spokesperson said.

The decision to maintain the airline’s “efforts for safe and reliable air transport service” was made public on Wednesday.

Since June 19, there have been at least eight incidences of technical issues with SpiceJet’s aircraft, prompting the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to issue a show-cause notice.
