Ranchi, Jan.3: The Jharkhand Government has decided to close all the educational institutions till further order in the wake of the third wave of corona pandemic which has gripped the entire Jharkhand state with 1651 active cases in Jharkhand capital alone.

Apart from schools, the government has directed to keep all the stadiums, parks, zoo, and swimming pools closed.

It was expected the government would impose a night curfew but no such decision was taken so far. The government was directed to keep government and private offices with half of its attendance capacity but prohibited biometric attendance.

The market will also remain open but its timing has been limited to 8pm.

The places which will run uninterrupted as usual include the medicine shops, bars and restaurants. Marriage and banquet halls have also been allowed to keep open but people allowed inside are half of its capacity.

Health minister Banna Gupta informed this to a section of the media after a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority ended in the evening.

“Once bitten twice shy. Nobody knows what will be the form of a third wave. These precautionary measures have been taken,” health minister Gupta said while making media people aware of the plan.
