Ranchi, Feb.9: The Jharkhand government does not want to increase the number of Kendriya Vidyalayas from the existing number of 41.
BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member gave information to this effect on the basis of a reply he got from union minister of state for education, Subhash Sarkar, in the matter.
The minister said that the Jharkhand government has not given any proposal to open Kendriya Vidyalayas before informing about the importance of the central schools.
“Kendriya Vidyalayas are opened to meet the educational needs of children of transferred employees of the Central Government including Defence Sector, Para Military Forces, Central Autonomous Bodies, Central Public Sector Undertakings, and Central Higher Educational Institutions by providing uniform programmes of education across the country,” Prakash quoted minister Sarkar saying.
