Daltonganj, May 11: 58 candidates have been shortlisted for interview in the PhD programme offered by Nilamber Pitamber University here.
As many as 358 candidates from West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, MP etc had taken the test for doing PhD in various subjects.
Sources said the NPU released the result in a record time of 50 days only as the written test for PhD entrance was held on March 22 and the NPU had used an OMR sheet which sealed any chance of fudging or manipulation of the OMR sheet of a candidate.
Incidentally, no candidate was found suitable for doing PhD in subjects like Physics, Botany and Home Science. The PET had been conducted for 14 subjects only, said the coordinator R K Jha.
