NPU Daltonganj prepares for convocation as Chancellor approves university anthem

Daltonganj, Oct 9: The Jharkhand governor cum Chancellor of state universities, Ramesh Bais has approved and unveiled the university anthem (kulgeet) of the Nilambar Pitambar University.

Arvind Pandey, Convener, college development council of NPU in a brief press note has informed that a team of NPU officials led by the Vice Chancellor Dr Ram Lakhan Singh and Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Deep Narayan Yadav along with the finance officer A K Vaid, controller of the examinations Sheopujan P Singh, proctor K C Jha, CCDC A Pandey and a senior accounts official Chandan Kumar Singh called upon the state governor Ramesh Bais on Saturday and offered him a cassette of the anthem. Pandey reiterated that the anthem was well appreciated, approved and even unveiled by the chancellor.

Pro VC Dr Yadav speaking to lagatar24.com on Sunday said that the chancellor inquired about the invitees and the university apprised him of invitations being sent to all the nine MLAs and two MPs coming under the territorial jurisdiction of this university which spans over 3 districts Latehar, Garhwa and Palamu.

Latehar and Garhwa districts have two MLAs each while there are five MLAs in the Palamu district. Of the two MPs, one of Palamu and the other of Chatra also look after the three districts.

Another team of the university is in Ranchi for a message by the Chief Minister in the university Souvenir.

Sources have said that the university had sent letters of requests to the CMO well in time for the message by the CM but in vain.

A senior teacher in the department of English and now professor in-charge of the degree college Manika, Dr Bimal Kumar Singh said, “We are looking forward to the message by the CM but as our convocation is slated for October 14, the time is running out.”

Registrar of NPU Dr Rakesh Kumar said, “The University has made 15 teams that are working on several requirements of the convocation.”

“We are waiting for the schedule of His Excellency. However our invitation card for the convocation does mention that the programme will begin at 1 pm on October 14 wherein we have requested our guests and participants be present by 12 pm,” Kumar further added.

On being asked about whether the university has approached the district administration in regard to the visit of the governor, the registrar said, “I understand the senior officials are working on it.”
