Ramgarh, Dec.27: Ankit Kumar, son of Shankar Prasad Agarwal, a volunteer of National Service Scheme (a unit of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India) at Ramgarh College has been selected to represent Jharkhand in the Republic Day parade to be held in New Delhi on January 26, 2022.
He will represent the state along with three companions on the Rajpath.
“NSS Volunteers are physically, culturally and intellectually tested at the unit, college and university level, then volunteers are selected for the Republic Day Parade,” said Ankit.
“This year, the selection process was very difficult. After the first unit, college cum university selection process, all the selected volunteers had to go through the state level selection camp. After that, all volunteers reached the pre-republic day parade organized by the Central Zone, which was organized at BIT Patna,” he added.
“We were very happy when we got selected after such a rigorous selection process. This selection is not only of me alone but of my family cum Ramgarh Mahavidyalaya Ramgarh NSS unit. I would like to give special credit to Dr. Kamna Roy, the Programme Officer of our NSS unit and former team leader Vikas Kumar, Ajit Gupta, Mamta Kumari as guardians of volunteers of Ramgarh Mahavidyalaya Ramgarh NSS unit, who guided each volunteer of the unit at every step,” Ankit further said.
Programme Officer Dr. Kamna Roy while congratulating Ankit said that this selection is a matter of pride not only for Ramgarh College but for the entire district. Four volunteers have been selected for Jharkhand Dal this year in which Ankit has increased the prestige of the district by getting a place with his ability.
Former team leader cum senior volunteer Vikas Kumar said, “I was eagerly waiting for this moment and now I am very happy. Ankit has done what no one had done so far in the history of Ramgarh Mahavidyalaya, Ramgarh, The tenacity that I had been doing for training volunteers for so many years, today after the selection of Ankit, has become successful.”
