Ranchi, Nov 16: On the occasion of Jharkhand Foundation Day on November 15, Chatti-Bariatu Mine of NTPC dispatched its first coal to North Karanpura Thermal Power Plant of NTPC.
To mark this feat, Chandan Kumar Mondol, Director (Commercial) & Nominated Owner of Mines and Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) flagged off the coal-loaded truck to North Karanpura Plant.
On the occasion, BM Singh, Project Head, of Chatti Bariatu CMP; Tajinder Gupta, Project Head, of North Karanpura; Faiz Tayyab, Project Head, of Kerandari CMP; TK Konar, General Manager (Technical Services), Coal Mining Headquarters employees of Chatti-Bariatu and representatives of M/s Rithwik-AMR Consortium, the Mine Developer-cum-Operator of Chatti Bariatu mine were also present.
Mondol congratulated the entire coal mining team for achieving this milestone. Chatti-Bariatu became the 4th operational mine of NTPC with the start of operations on April 27. Presenting an example of accelerated development, coal production commenced in September 2022 and is now in November 2022 the dispatch started.
Mazumder, Regional Executive Director(Coal Mining) appreciated the team effort and expressed his gratitude to the state and district authorities for their continuous guidance. He also thanked the villagers for their continuous support.
Singh, Head of Chatti-Bariatu Mines expressed that he along with his team will be committed to ensuring a continuous supply of coal to North Karanpura. All-out efforts will be made to achieve the peak rated capacity of 7 MTPA within 4 years of time.
NTPC’s Coal Mining business has added a new feather to its cap and will continue to supply high-quality coal to the power plants of NTPC.
