Hazaribag, May 9: Sharad Kumar, the project coordinator of NTPC’s outsourcing company Ritwik, was shot dead this afternoon on Barkagaon-Hazaribag road. Sharad’s bodyguard Rajendra Prasad, a jawan of Jharkhand police also suffered bullet injuries and was admitted to Hazaribag Aarogyam Hospital.
Eyewitnesses said Sharad was going to the NTPC office in Pankri Barwadih of Barkagaon when two criminals on a bike came following his SUV. They opened fire on him killing him on the spot.
SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe confirmed the incident and said Sharad succumbed to bullet injuries on the spot. Chauthe who reached the spot said the investigation has started which would be followed by raids to nab the culprits.
