Dhanbad, March 7: The Naresh Vashisht Centre for Tinkering and Innovation (NVCTI) at IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) will organize Jharkhand State inter-school competition on innovation challenge.
Members of the organizing committee Prof Pankaj Mishra, Associate Dean of NVCTI and Prof Ajit Kumar, head of strategy and execution NVCTI, said that the theme of the competition is ‘Start Technology for an Intelligent Society.’
“The motive of this state inter-school competition is to encourage budding innovators of state and provide them a platform to apply their minds in solving real-life problems through technological innovation,” said Prof Pankaj Mishra and Prof Ajit Kumar.
Shedding light on organizing this ambitious programme for school kids, the duo said that the vision is to identify and foster an ingenious solution to complex challenges and to create an ecosystem where ideas lead to innovation.
The senior faculty members of IIT ISM said that since budding talents of schools across the state will participate in it, keeping this in mind the event is designed to pitch an idea that would help them to solve real-life problems.
“For achieving the goal, NVCTI will provide students the access to Naresh Vashisht Tinkering and Innovation Lab that is equipped with every state-of-art and infrastructural facility,” said both the professors of the organizing committee.
The organizing committee officials said the competition is open to all schools having District Information System Education (DISE) code and students of class 8-12 of any institution can take part in it. The process started on March 4 and would be completed in four phases to select the top three budding innovators.
The winner, runners up and second runners up would be given a cash prize of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. The consolation prize winners would also be given certificates.
