Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir launched a major anti-terror operation named Operation Bihali in Udhampur district’s Basantgarh area on Thursday following specific intelligence inputs. Contact has been established with terrorists, and a fierce gunfight is currently underway.
Joint action by Army and police
The operation is being carried out jointly by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. According to an official update posted on X by White Knight Corps, the forces moved in on the Bihali area early Thursday after receiving credible input about terrorist presence.

“Based on specific intelligence, a joint operation was launched by #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice in the Bihali area of #Basantgarh. Contact has been established with #terrorists. The #operation is currently in progress,” said the army’s official communication.
