Ramgarh, Aug 6: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has launched a drive under ‘Operation Yatri Suraksha’ over East Central Railway (ECR) against criminals who target passengers while travelling in trains as well as in railway premises.
In July 2022, as many as 29 criminals were nabbed by RPF personnel during the drive. Several mobile phones, ornaments, ladies purses, laptops, trolley bags and cash worth more than Rs 10 lakhs were recovered from the possession of the criminals. They were handed over to related GRPs for further legal action.
“RPF is committed to its objective of ‘Sewa Hi Sankalp’ and will continue its efforts for better security of the passengers travelling in trains as well as in railway premises over ECR zone in the coming months too by improving response, using latest technology , innovation, effectiveness and reach,” said Virendra Kumar, CPRO, ECR.
