Kolkata: TMC leader Mukul Roy has been made the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. BJP’s opposition to this continues continuously. Now, the situation has become such that on Tuesday, eight BJP MLAs have resigned from all the nine committees of the assembly. This includes BJP MLAs Mihir Goswami, Manoj Tigga, Krishna Kalyani and others.

Mass resignation of BJP MLAs

Eight BJP MLAs, led by Deputy Leader Manoj Tigga in West Bengal Assembly, met Speaker Biman Banerjee. During this, BJP MLAs opposed the appointment of Mukul Roy as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and submitted their collective resignation. Mukul Roy, who left BJP and joined TMC a few days ago, has been made the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. This post rests with the opposition. In the TMC government, Mukul Roy has got the reward for returning home. The committee has to look after the matters related to the accounts and finances of the government.
