Faridabad: Over 200 doctors and staff members of Al Falah University have come under intense scrutiny after investigators linked the institution to suspects involved in the November 10 Red Fort car blast. Multiple security agencies have intensified checks at the campus, prompting many staffers to leave the premises with their belongings.
University Staff Under Watch Amid Continuous Raids
Investigators are verifying how many people left the university after the blast and whether any had direct links to the terror module. Over 1,000 individuals, including hostel residents and off-campus students, have been questioned. Many persons allegedly deleted mobile data, which agencies will now recover and analyse.
A 35-year-old woman who rented out a room to suicide bomber Dr Umar Un Nabi in Nuh was detained after being on the run since the blast. Seven more individuals from Nuh are under investigation for links with Umar, who reportedly used multiple phones while hiding there.
Suspicious Activities of Umar Under Fresh Scrutiny
Sources revealed that Umar received “special treatment” at the university, fuelling suspicions of an internal handler. Doctors claimed Umar was absent for nearly six months in 2023 without approval or inquiry, yet resumed duty freely. He rarely taught, took minimal classes of 15–20 minutes, and was consistently assigned evening or night shifts, never mornings.
Following the revelations, Al Falah Medical College’s patient footfall has dropped sharply—from around 200 OPD patients daily to less than 100.
NIA, Delhi Police, ATS, ED Set Up Command Centre On Campus
Several agencies—including the NIA, Delhi Police Special Cell, UP ATS, Faridabad Crime Branch, and J&K Police—have established a temporary command centre inside the university. The Enforcement Directorate also entered the probe on Tuesday, examining potential financial irregularities and institutional support to the terror network.
