Dhanbad, Oct 20: Over 3000 technophiles from 25+ pioneer engineering institutes across the country will be exhibiting their prowess during the three-day IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad’s annual event ‘Concetto 22′ which will begin tomorrow (October 21 to 23).
Prabhat Kumar, director general (DG) of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) will inaugurate the event while Sanjay Singh, (Director of Technical-BCCL) and Dr Mohit Gambhir, director (Innovation), Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell will be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively in the inaugural function tomorrow.
The convener of Concetto 22 Prof Ajit Kumar, head (Strategy & Execution) of Naresh Vashisht Centre for Tinkering and Innovation (NVCTI) IIT (ISM) said that technophiles from different IITs including IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Palakkad, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Bhubaneswar, BIT Mesra and engineering colleges of government and private technical institutes of different states have confirmed their participation in this mega event which is being held on the theme of ‘Augmented Reality-Reality beyond vision’.
The convener further said that during the three-day event, different competitions including technical club events, animation and game design contests, aeronautics and space technology-related events, preparing glider, data and software technology events, cyber security, electronics and IOT club events, robotronics and fintech club events will be held to test the ability and technical knowledge of the participants.
One of the events heads Ankit Aryan, (a B Tech, final year electrical engineering student) said that as part of technical club events students will be participating in Game Jam-a contest related to creating any game; Game-E-Heart related to creating animation; E sports –in which e-sports events like Valvorant and FIFA will be played.
“During the Aeronautics and Space Club events participants will be pitched against each other in the competitions like the sky is the limit, in which they will be required to prepare a glider; Pseudo Pilots design the basic drone flight controller,” said Aryan.
Overall coordinator of the event Aman Mittal (B Tech final year student) said that there would be events like –’Hold Your Barge’ in which the participants will be required to prepare a barge/ship using plastic straws. Similar events will be also held for technophiles of the environment department, chemical department, computer science & engineering department, mechanical department, electrical engineering, civil engineering, electronics and communication and engineering physics.
“In Concetto author Tanu Jain, a prominent educationist and Abhayand will be guest speakers to motivate the participants,” said Vishnu Vikash, co-head.
