New Delhi, Nov 22: Two separate attempts by Pakistani intruders to cross the international border (IB) in the Arnia area of Jammu and Kashmir were thwarted by Border Security Force (BSF) forces. One was killed by gunfire during the procedure, while another was taken into custody, according to a border guard force spokesperson.
Giving further details, he said that in the Arnia region of Jammu, BSF soldiers shot and killed a Pakistani infiltrator after spotting him advancing aggressively toward the border fence.
“He was challenged to stop but he did not pay any heed. Finding no other alternative, the troops fired and killed him,” the spokesperson said.
In another incident, around 4.30 am movement was seen. He too was challenged, he stopped&raised his hands. He wasn't fired at&was apprehended. Both incidents show cross-border attempts are underway. In a different incident, the statement claimed that forces caught a Pakistani invader as he neared the fencing in the Ramgarh area after crossing the IB.
“He was brought inside the Indian side of the fence after opening the gate. Nothing incriminating has been found in his possession so far,” the spokesperson said.
The search operation is underway.
