New Delhi, May 12: Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI and former Pakistani prime minister was granted bail by an anti-terrorism court on Friday until May 23. At the police station in Ramna, the case was reported.

Apart from this, the Supreme Court ordered Imran Khan’s immediate release on Thursday, labelling his arrest “unlawful” and “illegal,” two days after he was taken into custody by an anti-graft agency on corruption-related accusations.

On Friday, Imran Khan appeared before the Islamabad High Court amidst strict security measures.

Khan’s arrest sparked widespread protests across Pakistan, and as his supporters went on the rampage and destroyed government facilities, the police tightened their prohibitory orders.

Following nearly 2,000 arrests and at least eight fatalities, the administration enlisted the army to assist in bringing the situation back under control.
