Daltonganj, March 25: A model family and model couple was today felicitated by Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr Anil Kumar and his team with an emphasis on family planning.

He said, “We take such a family to be Adarsh Parivar where the couple is conscious about pregnancy, delivery and gap of years among the children.”

“If the family has 2 children and the age gap between the two is 2 years or 3 years and then the couple has adopted permanent mode for limiting the birth of the kids  then we salute such family for helping us in the family planning and we term such family as Adarsh Parivar.” said Dr Kumar.

The additional chief medical officer said rural couples are now getting more conscious about having 2 children only as they realize its benefits.

He referred to one model mother Ruhi Perween who narrated her experiences in this function today and said, “Less children means less tension and more comfort in life. Our health is good. We take good care of our two kids.”

Ruby Kumari and Rani Devi had similar narrations about having 2 children and how it keeps them joyful and concerned about their welfare from upbringing to education etc.
