Daltonganj, Feb 3: The union budget is a long term budget and people should have patience to see its benefits, according to the Palamu unit of the BJP.
BJP state spokesperson Kunal Sarangi held a press conference today in presence of party’s two MLAs Alok Chourasia and Pushpa Devi besides district president Vijayanand Pathak, deputy mayor Mangal Singh, Vivek Bhavani Singh and others.
In the conference, Sarangi explained the ‘long term beneficial aspects of the budget’.
However, when asked that the central government did not announce an act for the minimum support price, he began to lambast the Congress and vested interests.
He took his time to prove that the minimum support price is and will always be in the country and there is no need to worry about it.
“Our party understands that we could not make a successful outreach among the farmers,” he said.
On the question that the income of the farmers should have doubled by 2022, Sarangi said the raging Coronavirus rolled many things in the back gears. He said the doubling of the income of the farmers has not come the way it should have, blaming the unprecedented Coronavirus.
Describing the farmers’ agitation as ‘halla-gulla,’ Sarangi in the heat of his criticism of the opponents said the farmers who died, met their deaths by getting ‘misled’.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi even rolled back the farm laws and assured the farmers that his government is committed to the upliftment of the farmers,” he said.
Sarangi said it is being floated that the union budget has totally ignored the interests of Jharkhand.
He said this is nothing but misinformation. Arjun Munda is a union minister and he comes from Jharkhand. His ministry has been granted Rs.927 crores with which they will work for the upliftment of tribals.
