Daltonganj, March 24: Palamu DC A Dodde has directed DDC Ravi Anand to inquire into the functioning of the shelter home for girls located at Shahpur.
The shelter home for girls came under flak when the vice chairperson of the 20-point programme implementation committee Bimla Kumari at a press conference last week levelled serious charges of lapses in the upkeep of this home for the girls.
She had alleged there is a fudging to the number of the girl inmates. “I was told by the officials about 30 girls in the home but on register verification only 14 girl inmates were found living there,” she pointed out.
Bimla Kumari said the home officials were tight-lipped about the remaining ones.
Again, she said the home officials told her about the ‘restoration’ of the 5 girls of this home but there were no records or documents of their restoration.
Her other allegation was that 5 other girl inmates of this home who are ‘mental cases’ are rudely treated.
Speaking to the lagatar24.com DDC Ravi Anand said today, “I will begin my inquiry in a day or two. The terms of reference for this inquiry are the plethora of complaints about this shelter home for girls as levelled by the vice chairperson of the 20-point programme implementation committee.”
