Palamu: Dr Vijay Kumar Singh to act as civil surgeon-cum-CMO till further orders

Daltonganj, Oct 19: The deputy superintendent of MMCH Daltonganj Dr Vijay Kumar Singh today assumed the charge of the civil surgeon cum chief medical officer Palamu following an order of Palamu DC Anjaneyulu Dodde, Dr Vijay will be performing the day-to-day duty of the CS and CMO till further order.

The DC’s order further reads that this arrangement is in the interest of work (read of the civil surgeoncy Palamu) and is a local arrangement. The order reads it is effective from the immediate effect.

The post of Palamu civil surgeon was lying vacant in the wake of the then Palamu CS Dr John F Kennedy going into judicial custody on September 30.

Sources said the DC’s order to ask Dr Vijay Kumar Singh to discharge the duties of CS-cum-CMO has received a nod from the state health department. Dr Singh will continue to be deputy superintendent of MMCH as usual.

Speaking to this correspondent, Dr Vijay Kumar Singh said, “My first message to our people of Palamu will be that they should not forget Covid appropriate behaviour in the festive season and try to maintain a positive attitude towards their own health and the health of others.”
