Daltonganj, Aug 12: A classic case of ground fight was witnessed on Friday in Hussainabad, about 82 kilometres away from Daltonganj, where a JMM leader and an RJD leader and their kin attacked each other over a piece of land.
A long-standing JMM leader Bashisht Singh alias Bablu was injured in the fight. He has been admitted to the MMCH Daltonganj with stitches in his head, according to surgeon Dr Sushil Pandey.
According to Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha, the fracas broke out between Bablu and the state RJD president Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav over a long-drawn land dispute there.
The SP said police are trying to find out if shots in the air were fired with the firearms as both sides have alleged that firing was committed. There is no firearm injury to anyone on both sides.
Sources said the injury that JMM leader Bablu has sustained is of blunt weapon like a lathi or rod etc.
RJD state president Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav claims he has land close to the petrol pump of Bablu while Bablu claims Yadav has no stake over the land.
Today, the Yadav brothers started tilling the land which was resisted by the side of Bablu and then it resulted in a fight between the two.
Till the time of reporting, police have not confirmed about the FIR as to which side did lodge the FIR first.
The Yadav camp led by RJD state president Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav is evading phone calls of lagatar24.com correspondent.
Two senior JMM leaders here in Daltonganj, Rajinder Sinha district president and Sannu Siddiqui visited MMCH Daltonganj and inquired about the health and head injury of JMM leader Bablu there who has undergone a CT scan. Its report is awaited.
