Palamu: One labourer dies amid mishap at Bardag stone mines

Daltonganj, Oct 9: One labourer died while another was injured when a boulder hit them at Bardag stones mines. Sub-divisional police officer at Chhaterpur Ajay Kumar said that the deceased labourer has been identified as Laddu Bhuiyan (28), while the injured is Pintu Bhuiyan.

Ajay Kumar on Sunday said that the incident occurred at Bardag stones mines Gosaideeh under the Pipra police station in Palamu late in the afternoon on Saturday.

The SDPO said that police have begun an investigation into the matter.

Officer-in-charge at Pipra police station Suraj Chail said, “We have no idea if any official of the district mines have inquired about the mishap.”

The stone mines belong to one Pappan Agrawal. Sources said safety measures at the stone mines are negligible everywhere.
