MF AHMAD

Daltonganj, Sept 5: Palamu police on Monday seized a total of 28 kgs of marijuana and cash amounting to over Rs 26,000.  The money seized is the proceed money for the banned marijuana.

Palamu SDPO Surjit Kumar said that the seizure of the banned narcotics led to the arrest of 4 people including a woman. He added that the marijuana was not the local one but it was bought from outside. This consignment was received by one of the 4 on NH 75. From there it was brought and hidden in a house at village Kanda under the Nawa Bazar police station.

Kumar said it was a night long work for the police to lay hands on the marijuana. Sources said marijuana is grown in Chatra, Latehar and Palamu districts as well but commercial supply in black market is done with the consignment of it reaching from Orissa.

SDPO Surjit Kumar said police will continue to fish out marijuana with intensity.
