Daltonganj, Jan 24: Ramgarh police in Palamu district rescued a minor girl from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur.

Giving this information, officer in charge of Ramgarh police station Prabhat Ranjan Rai said the minor girl of Kokaro village under Ramgarh police station was sold in Chhatarpur of Madhya Pradesh for Rs.70,000. Her buyer was identified as Bakka Yadav who slipped before the police could have arrested him.

“We have rescued the girl and brought her back to Ramgarh,” the officer said.

Prabhat had a word of appreciation for the Chhatarpur police in Madhya Pradesh which helped Jharkhand’s Ramgarh police in rescuing this minor girl.

The girl’s mother Savita had lodged a complaint with the Ramgarh police station on 4.8.2021 describing her minor daughter gone missing.

“Our preliminary investigation zeroed in on her affair with a boy and that took us to Chhatisgarh’s Ramanujganj where we reached the ‘Chawl’ and discovered the girl did live here but by then we reached there she had moved out,” the police officer informed.

“We began to inquire about her from the residents of the Chawl and we focused on one Rakesh Yadav. This Yadav was a dubious character. He was accused of the arms act,” he added.

“We had this gut feeling that this Yadav would be instrumental in getting us our minor girl and we did recover her,” the officer further said.

SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha said it is a flawless recovery and rescue of a minor girl.

“Our police have arrested 3 identified as Jitender, Rohit and Rakesh who were remanded in judicial custody today. Rakesh hails from Madhya Pradesh while the other two are of the Garhwa district,” the SP said.

He said the trio were looking for a girl for a prospective buyer and everyone worked directly or indirectly for Bakka Yadav to whom this girl was sold off for Rs.70,000.

The SP said the girl was enticed to move from Kokaro in Jharkhand to Ramanujganj in Chhatisgarh to Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh all for a lucrative future with lots of money for her only making her end up by getting sold off in Madhya Pradesh.

“Our police will fish out Bakka Yadav one day or the other with whom this minor girl was forced to live as wife,” the SP assured.
