Palamu: Ranchi CPWD team surveys plot for Kendriya Vidyalaya

Daltonganj, Jan 23: A team of central public works department recently surveyed the 10 acre plot of land of the Kendriya Vidyalaya at Pokhraha in the sadar block of Daltonganj. Principal of the  school, Nishant Choubey informed that the team came from Ranchi.

“We have urged V D Ram, MP Palamu, to get work started in our school. Since 2020 the school running in a government building. The school demands for its campus, classrooms etc,” he said.

An aide of MP Vijay Ojha, a senior BJP leader, said that the MP has assured to take up this issue with the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan in Delhi on a priority basis. MP V D Ram visited this school recently observed the facilities and challenges there, said Ojha.

From April, the school shall add one more class taking the classes to 7th standard. The principal conceded that COVID has seriously affected the teaching here like other schools across the country.  He further that the most students enrolled in the school have either one smartphone or none at all. Moreover, the smartphones remains with the adults. Hence, our students are unable to receive online education. He referred to a female student (name withheld) of class 2 who is unable to receive her online classes due to poverty.

Sai Swaroopa of class 6 is luckier to have a smartphone of her own and she also uses her mother’s smartphone for her online teaching told the girl student to lagatar24.com English correspondent last night.

Choubey admitted non availability of smart phones in the families of the enrolled children of our school does affect online access to all. Sources said around 25 percent enrolled students of this school lag behind the online classes due to lack of smartphones of their own or in their families.

Choubey said that this school has two teachers on deputation one from Ranchi and the other from Garhwa and two more teachers.

Kendriya Vidyalaya has a cap of students’ capacity in every class beginning class one of ten to forty students per class. India has around 1248 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country.
