Daltonganj, Oct 7: Three people on a bike going across the Up line got a jolt from a wagon of the coal-laden goods train resulting in injuries to two and one other sustaining fracture in the leg. After this, the irate relatives and co-villagers on Thursday evening created a ruckus in the panel office of the station master in charge of the Karkatta railway station under the east central railways of the Moghulsarai division.
According to the stationmaster in charge, Santosh Kumar Singh, this episode took place at 6.42 pm on Thursday.
“As the place of the occurrence was 400 meters away from the Karkatta railway station, we could not know about it till irate people stormed into the panel office of the railway station creating ugly scenes and raising slogans,” Station master in charge Singh said.
“As a precautionary measure, we detained one goods train at the outer signal and got halted one passenger train at Sigsigi for ten minutes to avoid any nuisance by the irate people on the railway tracks,” he added.
The station master in charge said all train traffic became normal around 7.50 pm on Thursday.
The GRP from Daltonganj and the RPF from Japla were called in which took stock of the situation.
As per the information, there is no loss of railway property except for the fury of the villagers who vowed not to lay down the third railway track there.
SDPO Surjit Kumar said anyone who would attempt to create a hurdle in the work of the railways would face action as per law.
Officer in charge of the Untari road police station Shiv Kumar said the three riders on the bike were themselves unguarded to their safety while negotiating a route which is not a passage across the Up line of the railway.
