Ranchi, Oct 19: Security personnel engaged in anti-Naxal operations in the forests of Palamu today recovered as many as 51 IEDs and other items of daily use from an area adjacent to Burha Pahar.
With IEDs, two hand grenades, detonator wire, copper wire, battery and gelatin among other things were also recovered.
With this, the number of IEDs recovered in two days from the said locality rose to 73 as earlier on Oct 18, as many as 22 IEDs were recovered with seven pieces of wireless, 279 bullets of 7.62 mm, three pieces of hand grenades, 26 pieces of detonators, 12 pieces of battery.
Burha Pahar is a place where Maoist top guns used to operate. It was the same place where Maoists used to recruit and train their cadre for their posting across Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh and other parts of the country.
It was the place where Maoist leaders like Praveen, Arvind, Pramod Mishra, Mrityunjay, Marcas Barla and other special area committee members used to stay and control their cadres at Saranda, Parasnath, Chakrabanda and trijunction of Khunti, Chaibasa and Sariakela.
After the place was liberated from the clutches of Maoists, security personnel are focusing on the adjacent areas.
