Palamu: Third phase Panchayat poll on May 24, Panki reports one transgender voter

Daltonganj, May 23: The third phase of Jharkhand Panchayat polls in the Palamu district is scheduled for May 24, (Tuesday).

More than 3.30 lakh voters are expected to cast their votes in the third phase of the polling at 911 booths.

Among the total voters, there is one transgender voter in the Panki block as per an official document.

The third phase of the polling involves Panki, Satbarwa, Lesliganj (Nilamber Pitamberpur), Tarhassi and Manatu blocks.

Tarhassi BDO Sachidanand Mahto said, “Our preparations are for the smooth conduct of the polling.”

He agreed there is an undercurrent of anti-incumbency factors in this election. He said some panchayats like Gurha, Dhuma, Bharatpur etc are under constant vigil due to the hot campaign for polls there.
