Daltonganj, May 17: Two DJ-fitted poll campaign vehicles have been seized by the administration at Tarhassi block in Palamu.
Notably, the use of DJ-fitted poll campaign vehicles is banned by the state election commission.
BDO Tarhassi Sachidanand Mahto said today, “We have warned the contesting candidates against using DJ sound for campaigning but there are few who indulge in it and violate poll campaign norms.”
Cases under the Public Representative Act have been registered against the candidates namely Binod Kumar Gupta and Shakuntla Devi for defying the orders of the district election officer regarding not using the DJ.
BDO Tarhassi further said a car was also intercepted by police and the flying squad but it managed to give a slip. It had no DJ but posters and banners, permission for which was not duly obtained.
The car was campaigning for Kaushalya Devi, contesting the Zila Parishad east seat in Tarhassi.
The general observer Anil Kumar Yadav and the flying squad are very active in the Tarhassi block enforcing the model code of conduct for the election.
