Jamshedpur, March 10: Mystery shrouds the death of a 55-year-old man whose partially-burnt decomposed body was recovered from his house in Subhash Colony under Ulidih thana area in Mango.
The body of the suspected murder victim Amarnaath Singh lay in the house until foul smell did emanate from the house where the deceased’s wife Meera Devi was also living.
Meera Devi did not allow anyone, including police to enter into the house and the body was recovered by the police after the woman was taken into custody.
Significantly, while trying to drive away a police team from the Ulidih thana, Meera Devi claimed to have electrified the grills and other fencing of the house and had warned the team keep themselves away from her house.
The suspected murder victim was a builder and was not seen around since the past five days. The matter related to his death came to fore only after pungent odor came out of the house in the neighborhood.
Ulidih thana OC, Vinod Tuddu said they are yet to confirm it to be a case of murder. A conclusive idea about the cause of death can be made only after the autopsy report comes.
“But given the mental condition of the deceased’s wife and her unusual behaviour, we can suspect it to be a case of murder. We have sent the body for postmortem. Let the autopsy report come, then every thing will be clear, ” said Tuddu while talking to lagatar24.com.
