Daltonganj, Nov.3: A 40-year old man identified as Santosh Kumar Chandravanshi has been shot at today in broad daylight at Mahavir More under Lesliganj police station area, about 18 kilometers away from Daltonganj. SP Palamu, Chandan Kumar Sinha, has confirmed the incident.
Chandravanshi was first admitted to the Medinirai medical college hospital (MMCH) in Daltonganj from where he has been referred to RIMS Ranchi for further treatment.
He belongs to Belwatiker mohalla in Daltonganj and is a distributor of Patanjali products. He used to travel to Panki market via Lesliganj on his bike every Wednesday for products distribution.
Gautam Roy, officer-in-charge of the Lesliganj police station, said that the man has sustained bullet injuries in his right shoulder.
According to police, Chandravanshi was on his way to work when he stopped his bike at Mahavir More and went to the bushes across the road to attend nature’s call. While returning, two bike borne criminals appeared all of a sudden and one of them fired at him injuring his shoulder. A PCR van rushed him to MMCH Daltonganj.
Police said that the injured distributor couldn’t recollect who could be the shooter. He also couldn’t tell police the reason as to why he was shot at.
Investigation of this case has been initiated by the police which prima facie appears to be of any enmity or animosity that has sparked this shooting.
