New Delhi, June 1: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called Health Minister Satyendar Jain a ‘patriot’ and said he should be awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
“Satyendar Jain is a patriot. The country should be proud of him, he gave the Mohalla clinic to Delhi. People from across the world have come to see it. He should be given Padma Vibhushan,” Kejriwal.
“Let everyone enquire into him; CBI has already cleared him, ED will as well,” he added.
Notably, Jain holds various portfolios, including Health, Power and Home, in the Arvind Kejriwal government. Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an accused money laundering case and was sent to custody till June 9. Since the beginning of Jain’s detention, the Delhi Chief Minister has stood by him. On Tuesday, Kejriwal stated that he had reviewed the case personally and that the allegations levelled against Jain are wrong.
