New Delhi, Dec 17: The Supreme Court on Friday had stayed all proceedings of 2-member Inquiry Commission headed by ex-top court judge Justice Madan B Lokur, constituted by West Bengal to investigate alleged Pegasus snooping row.

A bench comprising Chief Justice N V Ramana and Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli has also issued notice to the Commission regarding the matter. Earlier on August 25, the West Bengal government had assured the apex court that the Commission won’t go ahead with inquiry  till the court hears the bunch of pleas on the issue.

Notably, the apex court on 27 October had appointed a three-member panel of cyber experts to probe the alleged use of Israeli spyware Pegasus for surveillance of certain people in India.
