Ramgarh, Nov 5: A discussion on cleanliness and the swearing-in ceremony for maintaining the cleanliness of the Ganges was organised at the premises of the Patratu Dam under Patratu block on Friday under Ganga Utsav to commemorate the declaration of river Ganges as the national river of the country.

On the occasion, the women of self-help groups organised a Deepotsav in Patratu Dam premises, while all discussed their contribution to keeping the rivers and other water sources clean and making other people aware of maintaining water bodies clean.

They further promised to keep the rivers and other water sources clean and motivate other people to keep the water sources clean, to not throw garbage, and polythenes in rivers and water sources, and to not use single-use plastic.

They also decided to use bags, make blotting pits for disposal of dirty water in the house, not immerse idols made of chemicals in water sources, and use the remaining materials used for worship as manure for plants.
