New Delhi, March 28: Petrol and diesel prices were raised for the sixth time in a week on Monday, resulting in increases of Rs 4.00 and Rs 4.10 per litre, respectively, since Tuesday. Petrol and diesel in Delhi are currently being sold at a price of 99.11 per litre and 90.42 per litre, respectively, following a 30 paise and 35 paise hike.
Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai have been raised by 31 paise and 37 paise, respectively. People in the financial capital will now have to spend 114.19 dollars for gasoline and 98.50 dollars for diesel.
In Chennai, the new rates for petrol and diesel are 105.18 and 95.33, respectively, while in Kolkata, the revised rates for petrol and diesel are 108.85 and 93.92, respectively. Petrol costs 104.78 per litre in Bengaluru, while diesel costs 89.02 per litre.
Since the end of a four-and-a-half-month break on March 22, fuel prices have risen six times. Fuel prices were raised by 80 paise per litre on all four times.
Notably, fuel price have been raised across the country, and they differ from state to state based on the amount of municipal taxation. Since November 4 of last year, there had been a standstill in gasoline price revisions, which was interrupted on March 22 when crude oil prices rose in response to Russian military operations in Ukraine.
