Ranchi, March 29: Petrol price in Jharkhand capital rose to Rs 103.41 from Rs 102.59 per litre while diesel price rose to Rs 96.58 per litre from 95.85 per litre.

Executive member of the Petroleum Dealer Association (PDA) , Jharkhand, Ayush Choudhary informed to Lagatar24.com saying the rising trend will continue.

A section of consumers in the city expressed their displeasure at the hike in petroleum prices.

“The price of crude oil has reduced but the petrol price has not been reduced. This is injustice,” said a consumer calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, Choudhary explained the reason by saying it will be wrong to blame any particular person for the rise.

“Price of crude oil has risen to 120 dollar per barrel from 82 dollar per barrel. Now it has reduced to 111.30 dollar per barrel. Thus despite the reduction in the price of crude oil, the rise will continue to compensate for the loss. If the price of crude oil remains 100 dollars per barrel, a hike in petrol price is expected Rs 9 to Rs 12 per litre. In case it ranges between 110 dollars to 120 dollars, the hike is expected to be between Rs 15 to Rs 20 per litre,” Choudhary said.

“Since March 22 a hike of Rs 4.85 per litre has been observed in petroleum products. The Russia-Ukraine war has worsened the situation.  Election factors also played a role,” Choudhary said.
