Ranchi, Aug.12: A demand was raised today to name JSCA stadium after freedom fighter Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo on his 204th birth anniversary during a programme organised at Hatia.

“The road connecting the martyr’s memorial at Hatia to Project Bhawan and international cricket stadium be named after Amar Shaheed Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo,” Yadav said.
Later, Suman Prakash Mali, a local resident, supported the demand saying the story of freedom fighter Shahdeo should also be included in school books and steps be taken to provide government service to improve the financial condition of descendants of freedom fighters.
MLA Kachhap addressing the programme remembered the freedom fighter and expressed his concern over the encroachment of historic land belonging to the freedom fighter by the land mafia and stressed the need of getting it freed from the possession of encroachers.
