Jamshedpur, Oct 7: Acting on a tip-off, the police and paramilitary forces on Saturday arrested a PLFI rebel from Anandpur thana area in West Singhbhum.
Identified as Josef Guria alias Laden, the rebel was wanted in connection with a double murder case registered with the Anandpur thana in September 2021.
Revealing about the breakthrough, West Singhbhum SP Ashutosh Shekhar said in a press statement that they had got information that Laden was moving around clandestinely in Anandpur and adjoining Bano thana area riding a bike.
Soon a special team was set up and the wanted PLFI activist was arrested after being rounded up by the police and the paramilitary forces in the Anandpur thana area this morning.
According to the statement, the PLFI area commander Sujit Kumar Ram alias Sahuji had on September 9, 2021, killed two of his associates and buried the bodies near Patihar Mangradoha nala under the Anandpur thana area. After the arrest of two of the PLFI rebels, the police exhumed the bodies from the said spot.
During the interrogation, the arrested rebels had divulged that Laden (32) was also involved in the double murder. Ever since Laden’s name had figured in the accused list, he had absconded.
