New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a webinar on agriculture and rural prosperity, stating that this year’s budget marks the first full budget of his government’s third term. He highlighted that the budget not only maintains policy continuity but also expands the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India). PM Modi stressed that the collective goal is to build a nation where farmers are prosperous and empowered.

PM Modi: “No Farmer Should Be Left Behind”

The Prime Minister emphasized that every farmer must progress, ensuring that no one is left behind. Calling agriculture the first engine of development, he said that his government has given farmers a position of pride. He outlined two major objectives:

1. Development of the agriculture sector

2. Enhancing rural prosperity

He also mentioned that the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, launched six years ago, has provided ₹3.75 lakh crore directly to the bank accounts of 11 crore farmers across India.

India’s Farmer-Centric Digital Infrastructure

PM Modi highlighted India’s farmer-centric digital infrastructure, ensuring seamless benefits for farmers nationwide. He pointed out that India’s agricultural production has reached a record level. Compared to 265 million tons a decade ago, production has now surged to over 330 million tons, reflecting the government’s “Seed to Market” approach.
