New Delhi, Sept 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed his greetings for the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami and extended his wishes for ‘new energy and enthusiasm’ to all fellow citizens.

“Many greetings on Janmashtami. May this auspicious occasion of devotion infuse new energy and new enthusiasm in the lives of all my family members, this is my wish. Jai Shri Krishna!” PM Modi stated in a post on ‘X’ while being in Indonesia for the India-ASEAN Summit.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, also sent his best wishes for the occasion.

“Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki! Happy Shri Krishna Janmashtami to the people and devotees of the state. May Lord Krishna bless the entire creation,” he said.

Hindus commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, the deity who is the epitome of playfulness and purity, on Janmashtami each year.

Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, was born on the eighth day of the month of Bhadra according to the Hindu calendar. As to the Western calendar, the day occurs primarily in the months of August or September.
