Ranchi, Sept 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday gifted nine Vande Bharat Expresses to the country connecting religious and tourist places of 11 states. PM flagged off nine Vande Bharat Expresses simultaneously through video conference. Under this, the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express was also inaugurated.
Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Minister Hafizul Hasan, MPs Sanjay Seth, Aditya Sahu, Mahuva Majhi, Sameer Oraon were present as chief guests in the program organized at Ranchi Railway Station.
The Governor met the school children sitting in Vande Bharat and gave them chocolates. He said that India is moving forward and Jharkhand is following it. He added that today Jharkhand got the second connectivity of Vande Bharat, which will go to Howrah-Bengal and Bengal is a port which will help in connectivity growth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated not only the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express but also several other Vande Bharat Express trains connecting Udaipur-Jaipur, Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Vijayawada-Chennai, Patna-Howrah, Kasaragod-Tiruvananthapuram, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri, and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad. The introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains is set to enhance connectivity and provide world-class amenities to rail passengers across the country. With these high-speed trains, travellers will save a significant amount of time.
As per information, travellers on the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri and Kasaragod-Tiruvananthapuram routes will save approximately three hours of travel time. Similarly, journeys on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru route will save nearly two and a half hours, and on the Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai route, travellers will save more than two hours. With the Vande Bharat Express, passengers on the Ranchi-Howrah, Patna-Howrah, and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad routes will save around one hour. Likewise, the travel time between Udaipur-Jaipur will be reduced by approximately half an hour.
