New Delhi, August 28: At the Rashtriya Rozgar Mela on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed out over 51,000 appointment letters to newly hired employees in government agencies and organisations and noted that possibilities for young people across industries are being created by India’s economic progress.

The Prime Minister used video conferencing to address the gathering and noted that industries like pharmaceutical and automobile were expanding quickly.

“The pharma sector is growing at a fast pace and it will create huge job opportunities in the coming days…The automobile industry is also growing very fast. Both these industries (Pharma and automobile industry) are going to further develop in the coming days,” he said.

“The tourism sector is likely to contribute over Rs 20 lakh crore to the Indian economy by 2030, creating 13-14 crore new job opportunities for the youth,” he added.

In this decade India will rank among the top three economies worldwide, the PM said.

“When I give this guarantee, I will do that with full responsibility,” he said.

There are 45 places around the nation where the Rozgar Mela is taking place. The Ministry of Home Affairs has filled positions in several Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) through this Rozgar Mela event, including the Delhi Police, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles as well as Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

The new hires, chosen from around the nation, will be working in roles including Constable (General Duty), Sub-Inspector (General Duty) and Non-General Duty Cadre Posts in a variety of organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The new hires were referred to as “Amrit Rakshaks” by the PM, who also pushed them to keep improving their skills.

“I congratulate all those who have got the appointment letters today. I call them ‘Amrit Rakshaks’ because those who are getting appointment letters today will be serving the nation over the next 25 years and will be protecting the countrymen as well.”

The government has changed the paramilitary recruitment procedure in a number of ways to provide new opportunities for young people, including the option of taking tests in additional languages, he said.

He used Uttar Pradesh as an example and claimed that better law and order situation leads to more investment.

The recently appointed individuals will have the chance to further their education through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online section of the iGOT Karmayogi platform, where more than 673 e-learning courses are now accessible in ‘anywhere, any device’ learning format.

Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, also spoke at the occasion.
