New Delhi/Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi today, calling it a milestone in India’s journey towards digital self-reliance and technological independence. He announced that India recently launched its indigenous 4G stack, joining the league of only five countries globally with this capability.

India’s Technological Leap

PM Modi described the indigenous 4G and 5G stack as a major step toward ensuring seamless connectivity for all. He highlighted that compared to 2014, India’s electronic production has increased sixfold, manufacturing has surged 28 times, and mobile phone exports have jumped by an impressive 127 times. Over the past decade, the mobile manufacturing sector has created direct employment opportunities for millions of young Indians.

Major Projects in Maharashtra

Following the inauguration, PM Modi will head to Maharashtra. In Mumbai, he will inaugurate the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, built at a cost of ₹19,650 crore, making it one of the largest greenfield airports in the country. He will also flag off Phase 2B of Mumbai Metro Line 3, from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade, and launch the Short Term Employment Programme (STEP) aimed at providing employment opportunities to youth.
