New Delhi, June 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with the three army chiefs on Tuesday to discuss the Agnipath plan. PM Modi will be briefed by the three service chiefs on various elements of the scheme’s implementation. On Tuesday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reiterated his commitment to defence job seekers, saying that Agniveers will be promised positions in the state government after finishing their four years of duty.
The conference comes amid complaints against the government’s new military strategy, which intends to reduce the average age of the armed forces, according to the administration.
As the controversy raged over the weekend, defence minister Rajnath Singh held talks for two days straight. The military chiefs held a major press conference on Sunday.
